Custom Stretcher Bars and Stretching

We have been serving Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico for over two decades.  Our clients are some of the most established Artists and Galleries. 

 

Our Stretcher bar stock comes in 10-ft lengths that are dovetail joined every 4-8 inches (this prevents the stretcher bars from twisting and warping when the humidity changes or when they are shipped from one climate to another). They are then kiln-dried to fully cure the wood.

We use quality tools and supplies to ensure that our finished product will be archivally ready for museum-quality presentation.

Our Custom Stretcher Bar orders are not built until we personally measure the painting or canvas print work. This ensures that we have adequate material for the staples at the time of stretching. This process will ensure that there will be a minimum of image loss due to the painting wrapping around the stretcher bars.

Our stretching process is given extreme care by gently warming up the surrounding canvas as it is stretched and stapled on the back side of the canvas (Gallery Wrap), This extra step prevents the 'cured' paint from cracking or chipping away from the canvas as it is stretched over the lip of the stretcher bar.
